Watch it in action
🚪 How it works
- A Locked Gate protects a group of chained boxes; boxes inside the locked area cannot be tapped until it opens.
- Locks have colors and so do keys: a yellow lock needs a yellow key, a red lock a red key, and multi-gate levels each have their own key.
- The key is a specific Key Box, not a color — you do not clear all marbles of that color, you tap the one box carrying the key icon.
- The gate forces you to start with only part of the board, and the Key Box is often buried up top or deep, surrounded by colors you cannot use yet.
Pro tip
The best strategy is not to rush the key but to clear safe colors while opening a path to it. Start with boxes that match bottom slots, and avoid dropping dead colors. Open the gate when the conveyor is stable, then pause half a second to see what the unlocked area holds — it often has the color you need most. If the Key Box is buried high, clear one safe nearby box before digging straight toward it.
